Refund Policy

The International Journal of Machine Learning and Engineering (IJMLE) strives to maintain a transparent and fair refund policy for all services related to manuscript submission, processing, and publication. Below are the key components of the Refund Policy for the journal:

1. Article Submission Fees

  • No Refunds for Submission Fees: IJMLE does not charge a submission fee for articles. Therefore, there is no need for a refund policy regarding submission fees.

2. Publication Fees

  • Article Processing Charges (APC): Upon acceptance for publication, authors are typically required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) to cover the costs of publication, including peer review, typesetting, and online hosting.

    • No Refunds After Payment: Once the APC has been paid, it is non-refundable under normal circumstances. This policy applies even if the author decides to withdraw the manuscript after payment but before publication.

3. Refunds for Withdrawal Requests

  • Before Peer Review: If an article is withdrawn before the peer review process begins and no costs have been incurred (e.g., administrative processing), a partial refund may be granted, minus any administrative fees.

  • During Peer Review: If an article is withdrawn after the peer review process has begun, no refund will be issued, as the peer review process incurs costs for the journal.

  • After Acceptance: If an article is withdrawn after acceptance but before it is published, no refund will be given for the Article Processing Charge (APC), as significant editorial and processing work has already been done.

4. Refund for Editorial or Processing Errors

  • In cases where a manuscript is mistakenly published due to an error on the part of the journal (e.g., incorrect article details or publishing an article that should have been rejected), IJMLE will review the situation and may offer a partial refund or other appropriate remedy. Such issues are rare and handled on a case-by-case basis.

5. Refund for Duplicate Payment

  • If an author accidentally makes a duplicate payment for the same article, the journal will issue a full refund for the duplicate charge. The refund will be processed once the payment error is confirmed and validated by the editorial team.

6. Requests for Refunds

  • Authors wishing to request a refund must submit a formal request to the editorial office through email, clearly explaining the reason for the request.

    • Refund Request Timeline: Refund requests must be made within 30 days of the payment date.

    • Confirmation: The journal will review the refund request and inform the author of the decision, including any applicable administrative fees or refunds.

7. Refund Exceptions

  • Published Articles: No refunds will be issued once an article has been published online or in print.

  • Service Fees: Any additional services requested by the authors (e.g., additional editing, formatting, or promotional services) are non-refundable once the service has been rendered.

8. Payment Method

  • Refunds will be issued through the same method that was used for the original payment (e.g., credit card, bank transfer, PayPal) whenever possible. If this is not feasible, the journal will discuss alternative methods with the author.
